National Seminar on “Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)” by
Guru Nanak College (Autonomous)_
The department of B.Com (Honours) of Guru Nanak College organised a one day National Seminar on
“Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)”, in association with IQAC and Guru Nanak Centre for Research on
th February 2020. Dr. M.G. Ragunathan, Principal of Guru Nanak College delivered the welcome
address and Dr. Gunita Arun Chandhok, Vice Principal –Sh II gave an overview of the seminar. Mr.
Manjit Singh Nayar, General Secretary & Correspondent graced the occasion. 177 participants registered
from various colleges, universities and corporates pan India. Mr. Sanjai Gandhi, President, IPR
Attorney Association, Chennai and Mr. N.Shastry Tata, Managing Director, RSM Astute Consulting,
Chennai were the chief guests for the Inaugural and valedictory respectively. Mr. CS. D. Mohana
Sundaram, Associate Member with ICSI & ICMAI, Certified Public Accountant in Washington Board of
Accountancy, Practicing Company Secretary, Chennai, Mr. Joy Ghosh, Director, Board of Indian Council
of Ceramics tiles & Sanitary ware (A CII & Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India Body) & Director,
Board of Build 4 India – Joint venture co., with Koln Messe, Germany, Dr. Ahalada Rao,Fellow Member
of ICSI & Central Council member ICSI, Delhi, Practicing Company Secretary, Ahalada Rao &
Associates, Hyderabad, Mr. M.Mohammed Habibulla Asst. Registrar of Trade Marks, IPR, Chennai, Mr.
K. Saravanan Legal section Incharge Trade Marks Registry, IPR, were the resource person of the seminar.
They provided insights on the need and importance of IPR, trademarks, copy rights and patents.
