Each member of these top three teams has won an internship at Virtusa where they will undergo
training and work on industrializing their products and ultimately will get absorbed and receive full-
time employment offers.
In addition to full-time employment, four winning teams will each take home INR 1,00,000 each,
along with five runners-up each taking home INR 50,000. Further, the top three winning teams will
receive special prizes including smart watches and Bluetooth headsets.
Lauding the efforts made by the students, Dr. Ashwin Sadasiva Kumar, Senior VP, Capability
Transformation & Operations Head, Virtusa said “The resounding success of Jatayu last year
encouraged us to organize it this year with topical subjects around metaverse. Its heartening to
witness 4 times participation in the hackathon where students displayed exceptional approach and
commitment. It was a very tough call to arrive at the winners as each team was neck to neck in their
performance, methodology and approach. While students have access to theoretical knowledge,
they got to experience and work on real life problems. In addition, we are thrilled to offer
internships to the deserving students to work with the best-in-class and be part of the Virtusa
success story.”
Mr. Venkatesan Vijayaraghavan, EVP and Global Leader – Technology and Service Lines, Virtusa said,
“To Thrive in this digital era and the rapidly changing industry environment, students today need to
learn first-hand about emerging technologies. The idea of Jatayu was born as a solution to this
challenge. The competition is designed to attract the best talent from our partner institutes and
where we provide individuals with the industry exposure and training that ultimately allows them to
excel. By giving them the opportunity to get hands-on training with these innovative technologies,
we not only help each student become industry-ready, but we also present them with full-time job
offers. Our vision is to foster innovation by partnering with academia through a controlled and
integrated environment, while Virtusa provides mentorship to students on domain and NexrGen
Technologies.”
